BRISTOL, Va. — At least three restaurants in and around downtown Bristol have closed or are preparing to close.
Union 41, housed in a repurposed Greyhound bus station on Piedmont Avenue, has closed. Opened in 2023 by Torrece “Chef T” Gregoire, a culinary talent featured on Hell’s Kitchen and Yes! Chef, the restaurant drew acclaim for its seasonal, locally sourced menus and atmosphere.
Recently, the restaurant shut its doors, removed its online presence, and the historic building is now listed for lease and sale.
An online ad by Interstate Realty lists the lease cost at $76,800 per month for the 3,200 square foot restaurant space.
The French Magnolia, a restaurant that originally opened in November of 2024, has also closed. Bristol Virginia Economic Development Director Mack Chapman confirmed Friday that it had closed.
