GATE CITY — County emergency medical services and the county administrator’s post will be on the agenda for Friday’s special called meeting of the Scott County Board of Supervisors.
The meeting — set for 4 p.m. at the board’s second-floor meeting room at 138 Beech St. — begins with an open-session discussion on EMS issues.
Acting County Administrator Bill Dingus said Tuesday the EMS discussion will center on the Scott County Lifesaving Crew and that organization’s staffing.
Dingus said the county has been working with SCLC “for some time” on capacity to cover calls, adding that there had been a few weekends that the Nickelsville Rescue Squad and Duffield Fire and Rescue have had to cover calls due to a lack of SCLC staffing.
After the EMS matter, the board will go into closed session to discuss candidates for the county administrator’s position. Dingus, who has been acting administrator since late March, is one of four applicants the board interviewed two weeks ago.
