Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will host a “Blossoms and Blessings — A Celebration of Mom”--Kingsport Times News

BIG STONE GAP, Virginia — In observance of Mother’s Day, the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park will host a “Blossoms and Blessings — A Celebration of Mom” on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 11, from 1-5 p.m.

Mom does everything for you. Now, it’s your turn to do something for her. Show your mom some love this Mother’s Day weekend by submitting up to two flowers for this special Mother’s Day exhibition.

Clear bud vases are recommended, but potted flowers can be submitted as well. Please keep in mind that displays can be no taller than 18 inches. Suggested flowers are potted plants, cacti, succulents, bulbous plants and tuberous plants.

All floral displays and participation forms must be at the museum by 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 8. You may pick up a participation form from the front desk at the museum or email swvamuseum@dcr.virginia.gov to have one emailed to you.

There is no charge to visit the flower display. However, regular admission rates apply for those wishing to tour the museum: $5 adults, $3 children ages 6-12 and under 6 are free.
